The Danish Royal Family is currently on vacation. King Frederik and Queen Mary are spending their summer days at Gråsten Castle in Jutland, a tradition they uphold every year. Meanwhile, their nephews have reunited in France to celebrate the 22nd birthday of Count Félix, the second son of Prince Joachim and his first wife, Countess Alexandra. Celebrations took place at the French castle of his grandmother, Queen Margrethe, a place where the family often gathers during the summer.
Although Count Félix is no longer officially a prince due to a decision made by his grandmother to streamline the monarchy, the Royal House shared a photo to congratulate him. In the picture, he is seen posing with the stunning vineyards of the castle in the background, embraced by his siblings: Nicolas, 24, the eldest son of Prince Joachim and Countess Alexandra, and his younger siblings Athena, 12, and Henrik, 15, who are the children of Prince Joachim and his second wife, Princess Marie. The family dog, a charming white poodle named Cerise, also made an appearance in the photo. Count Félix is pursuing studies in business administration and service management at the Copenhagen Business School.
There is a possibility that Count Félix’s parents were also present, as the message accompanying the photo mentioned he celebrated his birthday at the Cayx castle in France with his family. However, his girlfriend, Mie Sofía Elers, a 23-year-old actress from Chile, was notably absent. Mie Sofia, who is currently studying at Central de Cine in Madrid, met Count Félix in Copenhagen, and their relationship has blossomed despite the geographical distance. She often travels to Copenhagen on weekends to spend time with him, and he reciprocates with visits to Spain.
Mie Sofía is keen on pursuing a career in acting and has already earned a degree from the Copenhagen Film and Theatre School. She has begun her acting journey with roles in the American series Strowlers and Laced Silk.
In recent news, Danish media reported that Mie Sofía has faced harassment for over a year, which began following the public announcement of her relationship with Count Félix. She has bravely spoken out about her experiences, filing reports with the police and exposing the extent of the attacks on social media.
“About a year ago, I started receiving hate messages on my social media accounts. I chose to ignore it until it escalated, and these profiles began to contact my friends, family, and followers,” she revealed. Mie Sofía explained that while hate can be ignored to some extent, harassment and malicious lies are far more damaging. The emergence of fake profiles impersonating her is just one aspect of the distress she’s experienced.
Disabling her accounts did not alleviate the situation, as the harassment persisted, affecting her loved ones. “I understand that these incidents can happen when using social media, but that doesn’t make it any less terrifying,” she shared, highlighting the challenges of being in the public eye while navigating personal relationships.
