John Dwyer’s OSEES have announced their return with a new album titled “SORCS 80,” set to be released on August 9 via Castle Face Records. This announcement follows their previous release, “Intercepted Message,” which came out last year. The band has also shared the lead single from the upcoming album, “CASSIUS, BRUTUS & JUDAS.”
Frontman John Dwyer describes “CASSIUS, BRUTUS & JUDAS” as a song that delves into themes of betrayal, driven by fear, greed, and cowardice. He elaborates that the song reflects on three classic betrayers through the lens of a punk song, emphasizing the difficulty of understanding why people keep such individuals in their lives.
The tracklist for “SORCS 80” includes:

“SORCS 80” promises to be an ambitious project for OSEES, with Dwyer explaining that the album was a self-imposed challenge to kickstart their creative flow. He mentioned that the last few years have been challenging, making it a good time for a creative pivot. The album was demoed at home on a cassette 4-track, using drum loops to create a pile of songs.
Tickets for the upcoming shows are on sale now, and fans can look forward to experiencing the new material live.
