Angelina Jolie wants Brad Pitt to put an end to their ongoing dispute over their $500 million winery, Château Miraval. The actress, who is 49 years old, has been embroiled in this battle with the 60-year-old star of “Fight Club” since she sold her stake in the winery following their divorce in 2016. Recently, her attorney revealed that she hopes Brad will withdraw his lawsuit against her.
Paul Murphy, Jolie’s lawyer, explained in a statement to People magazine that Brad is trying to “punish and control Angelina” by demanding a newly expanded non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to cover his alleged misconduct and personal abuse.
Brad’s legal action includes suing Angelina for the sale of her stake in the winery, seeking monetary damages, legal fees, and to have the sale annulled. However, Murphy emphasized that Angelina, who shares six children with Brad—Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox—only wants to “heal” her family and is advocating for a resolution to their disputes.
Murphy stated, “These actions are fundamental in this process. We aren’t surprised that Mr. Pitt is afraid to submit documents that could reveal these facts. While Angelina continues to plead with Mr. Pitt to end the fighting and finally guide their family towards healing, unless he withdraws his lawsuit, she has no choice but to gather the necessary evidence to prove that his allegations are false.”
In May, a court ordered Angelina to provide eight years’ worth of confidentiality agreements relating to the winery dispute. The ruling determined that she must submit “all documents in her possession, custody, or control that respond” to Brad’s request to reveal any signed paperwork.
A source from Brad’s team told Page Six that the latest ruling was a “devastating blow” after Angelina’s side previously argued in court documents that providing her past NDAs as part of the case would be “costly,” “wasteful,” “unreasonable,” and “abusive.”
Angelina’s lawyers also contended that turning over other confidentiality agreements she signed would violate the privacy of third parties involved. It’s understood that these documents could include agreements with employers, brands, and Hollywood employees.
As this complex legal battle unfolds, both stars continue to seek a path forward that ensures the well-being of their children while navigating their contentious relationship.
