Wedding bells rang in the picturesque countryside of Tuscany, Italy, as Bachelor Nation’s Hannah Ann Sluss and NFL star Jake Funk exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony. The couple, who have been dating since late 2021, chose to keep their special day private, focusing solely on the significance of their commitment to each other.
Hannah Ann, 28, and Jake, 26, tied the knot in a twelfth-century castle, a location they had previously vacationed at and fallen in love with. The serene and historic setting provided the perfect backdrop for their fairy-tale wedding. “We decided it would just be us and to really focus on the commitment and significance of marriage,” Sluss shared with People. “It’s easy to get caught up in all the glitz and glam, so having our wedding just for us made the most sense and made it meaningful.”
The bride walked down the aisle in a custom strapless gown designed by The Wedding Studio. The dress featured a corset-style bodice, pleated bust, and a train, complemented by a long veil adorned with a scalloped trim. “It’s exactly what I wanted,” she said. “I felt it was simple enough, yet elegant and timeless.” Jake, on the other hand, looked dapper in a classic black tuxedo from The Gentleman’s Playbook.
The couple’s decision to keep their ceremony intimate was a deliberate choice to focus on the essence of their union. “It’s easy to get caught up in all the glitz and glam,” Sluss reiterated. “So having our wedding just for us made the most sense and made it meaningful.”
In a touching gesture, Jake’s wedding band was engraved with his and Hannah Ann’s initials, a nod to a family tradition. “It was a way to honor his dad and continue that tradition,” Sluss explained. “I thought it was really special because often there are many customizations for girls, but for a guy, this was a deep gesture.”
Following their wedding, the newlyweds plan to explore Tuscany for a few days before heading to Switzerland for their honeymoon. “We plan to indulge in food and cooking classes and really start off our marriage by teaching him how to cook,” Sluss quipped. The couple also plans to host a reception party in Miami, Florida, in July to celebrate with their friends and family.
The couple’s journey to the altar began in late 2021, and they got engaged in January 2023 during a romantic vacation in Mexico. Jake proposed during a dinner, a moment that Hannah Ann described as surreal. “My heart stopped,” she recalled. “I’m like, ‘Oh shoot. I’m getting engaged. I need to make sure I look good.’ We go down to the hotel restaurant, there’s a beautiful setup.”
Their wedding planning was meticulously timed to fit around Jake’s football schedule. “They really don’t get much time off,” Hannah Ann explained. “It’s a very short window, so we’ve been wedding planning, seeing friends and family. And, then next week he flies off and pretty much everything has to be completed with the wedding.”
As they embark on this new chapter, the couple is excited about their future together. Hannah Ann, a Nashville native, even speculated that fellow WAG Taylor Swift might be the next to get engaged, as she told Page Six that engagements usually “happen in the offseason.”
