Boy Meets World Alum Trina McGee Pregnant at 54

Boy Meets World alum Trina McGee has announced that she is expecting her fourth child at the age of 54. The actress shared the news on Instagram on June 3, accompanied by the classic song “Baby Love” by The Supremes. “At the tender age of 54 I have found myself pregnant,” McGee wrote. She asked her followers for their prayers for a safe delivery and mentioned that she would be taking a break from social media.

McGee’s pregnancy was first hinted at in an earlier Instagram post when a fan commented on a photo of her vacationing in Malacate Beach, Belize, noting her visible baby bump. McGee, dressed in a blue halter top and long white skirt, simply replied, “Yup.”

Trina McGee has been married to Marcello Thedford since 2008. The couple met nearly three decades ago while working on Sylvester Stallone’s 1996 action-thriller Daylight. McGee was previously married to Randall Courtland Davis from 1991 to 2001, and they share two children, Langston and Ramia. She also has a third child from a previous relationship.

McGee is best known for her role on Boy Meets World, where she played Angela Moore, the love interest of Shawn Hunter, portrayed by Rider Strong, from 1997 to 2000. Earlier this year, McGee surprised fans by revealing that she was actually six months pregnant while filming the fifth season of the show. She shared this tidbit on TikTok, noting that she had to wear loose cardigans to conceal her baby bump during the season 5 episode “And Then There Was Shawn.”

Fans were quick to express their astonishment in the comments section. One fan wrote, “What? You were pregnant in the Halloween episode?! That’s wild! I would have never guessed.” Another added, “Omg, we had no idea! How old is your child now? You hid it well!”

While McGee generally keeps her private life out of the public eye, she has been candid about her experiences on Boy Meets World and its revival, Girl Meets World. In January 2020, she tweeted that she was labeled as “Aunt Jemima” by a cast member on the original series and was met with “cold blank stares” on the Disney Channel spinoff.

Six months later, amid the Black Lives Matter movement, Danielle Fishel, who played Topanga Lawrence on both Boy Meets World and Girl Meets World, publicly apologized to McGee for her behavior. Fishel admitted to being “rude, cold, & distant” when McGee guest-starred on Girl Meets World. McGee accepted the apology, and the two have since worked on rebuilding their relationship.

McGee also addressed the “Aunt Jemima” comments made by Will Friedle, who played Eric Matthews. Friedle reached out to McGee to apologize, explaining that his joke was made out of ignorance rather than malice. McGee accepted his apology and also apologized for making the incident public. The two have since reconciled, and Friedle has acknowledged that the experience changed his perspective on comedy and humanity.

In 2022, McGee appeared as one of the first guests on Friedle, Fishel, and Strong’s “Pod Meets World” rewatch podcast. Friedle admitted that his past behavior towards McGee had a profound impact on him, teaching him the importance of being mindful of his words and actions.

Trina McGee’s pregnancy announcement comes as she and her husband Marcello Thedford are in the process of building an eco-resort in Belize. The couple relocated from the San Diego area to Belize in March to work on their new venture, which includes renovating a café called Sisters.

As McGee prepares to welcome her fourth child, she continues to receive support and well-wishes from fans and former co-stars alike. Her journey from Boy Meets World to becoming a mother at 54 is a testament to her resilience and ability to navigate both personal and professional challenges.
