Chrisean Rock, known for her tumultuous relationship with rapper Blueface and as the mother of his 9-month-old son, has been sentenced to 30 days in jail and 12 months of probation following an assault incident. The reality TV star, whose real name is Chrisean Malone, was arrested at a San Fernando Valley courthouse while supporting Blueface during his probation-violation proceedings. Rock was taken into custody before Blueface, whose real name is Johnathan Porter, received his own jail sentence related to a 2022 shooting in Las Vegas.
The charges against Rock stem from a November 10 assault on James Wright, a dancer performing with singer Tamar Braxton at the Novo in downtown Los Angeles. According to Wright’s lawsuit, Rock repeatedly struck him in the face while wearing rings, breaking two of his teeth. Rock entered a no-contest plea and was subsequently sentenced to jail time and probation. Part of her probation terms include staying at least 100 yards away from Wright and the Novo.
Rock’s legal troubles don’t end there. She is also wanted in Oklahoma on a “fugitive from justice warrant,” possibly related to a 2022 drug-related arrest in that state. An LAPD spokesperson confirmed the warrant but could not specify when or if Rock would be extradited to Oklahoma.
Blueface’s mother, Karlissa Saffold, described Rock’s arrest as “bad timing” and criticized the authorities for arresting her while she was in court supporting Blueface. Despite past tensions, Saffold expressed concern for her grandson’s well-being, even tagging Kim Kardashian in an Instagram story, asking for help to get both Rock and Blueface out of jail. Kardashian, known for her advocacy for judicial reform, has not publicly responded to the plea.
Rock received five days of credit for time served in the case. Authorities plan to extradite her to Oklahoma after resolving her legal issues in California. The incident that led to her arrest occurred last November when Braxton performed at the Novo. Wright’s lawsuit claims that Rock became violent backstage over a misunderstanding about her role in the show. Wright believed she was supposed to dance, while Rock thought she would be rapping. The altercation left Wright with facial cuts and broken teeth.
Rock’s lawyer, Kevin Anderson, stated that Rock hit Wright multiple times in the face without provocation. Anderson expressed surprise that Rock was allowed to leave the venue that night, given the severity of the assault. The lawsuit also alleges that Rock used a homophobic slur against Wright and threatened to hit him again as she was being removed from the room.
In response to the lawsuit, Rock took to Twitter in February, dismissing Wright’s claims and expressing confidence that he would not win the case. She also mentioned taking a break from social media to focus on her projects, stating that she was not interested in negativity.
Rock has a history of violent incidents, including several altercations with her ex-boyfriend Blueface. As part of her probation, she is prohibited from owning or possessing any weapons. Plans are underway to extradite her to Oklahoma, where she faces outstanding drug charges. Rock was taken into custody on June 10 in the San Fernando Valley in connection with a felony fugitive warrant, which includes a count of assault with a deadly weapon.
During her arrest, five Los Angeles Police Department officers handcuffed Rock at the courthouse. Her son with Blueface, Chrisean Jr., was taken away from the scene by officers. Rock’s open warrant in Oklahoma is related to 2022 charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
Rock acknowledged her legal issues during an Instagram Live session in March, stating that she did not want to turn herself in because she was busy caring for her baby son. Despite her legal troubles, Rock remains focused on her future projects, hoping to move past the negativity surrounding her recent actions.
