Jonathan Majors Praises Girlfriend Meagan Good for Her Support After Domestic Violence Conviction While Accepting Perseverance Award
Jonathan Majors, the 34-year-old actor known for his roles in “Creed III” and Marvel’s “Avengers,” was honored with the Perseverance Award at the Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards on June 21, 2024. During his acceptance speech at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Majors expressed deep gratitude for the unwavering support of his girlfriend, Meagan Good.
“Meagan, I love you with all my strength, with all my heart, I love you,” Majors said, acknowledging the significant role Good has played in his life. “You done carried me so, so, so many nights. I love you. Through the fire.”
Majors’ speech also touched on the challenges he faced following his arrest in March 2023 and subsequent conviction in December 2023 for misdemeanor assault and harassment involving his former girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. He was sentenced to a year-long domestic violence intervention program in April 2024.
Reflecting on his experience, Majors shared, “There will be moments in your life where things get dark, and I mean, dark, really dark. I’ve seen that darkness in myself. I’ve sat in that pitch black, and what I’ve learned is that when you catch a glimpse of light, you run as hard and as fast as you can towards it.”
Majors also took the opportunity to thank several influential figures in his life, including Will Smith, Tyler Perry, Whoopi Goldberg, and his mother. He emphasized the importance of perseverance and the support he received from his community.
“I received this award not just as an acknowledgment that I have persevered,” Majors concluded, “but as a command to be there for others and to help them when and if their trials come.”
The event marked a significant moment for Majors and Good, who have been publicly supporting each other since they were first romantically linked in May 2023. Their presence at the awards ceremony highlighted the strength of their relationship and their commitment to facing life’s challenges together.
