Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles is back for its 15th season, and the premiere episode on July 10 has already stirred up some drama between Josh Altman and Josh Flagg. The tension revolves around a high-profile listing on Readcrest, which has become a point of contention between the two real estate moguls.
Josh and Heather Altman were preparing for an open house at their $15,888,888 listing. Heather explained that they were co-listing the property with another agent. The house had been on the market for quite some time before the Altmans got the listing, and many agents had already seen it. Tracy Tutor mentioned in an interview that she had gone on the listing appointment a year and a half ago, and it seemed like everyone in the industry had seen the property, including James Harris, David Parnes, and Fredrik Eklund.
Josh Flagg was particularly upset to find out that Altman had secured the listing. Flagg explained that he and Altman had gone on the listing appointment together. When Tracy asked Flagg if he would attend Altman’s open house, he responded vehemently, saying he wouldn’t support someone who “hijacked” the listing they had pursued together. Flagg felt betrayed, stating that Altman had “f-cked” him over the Readcrest listing.
Tracy was puzzled by Flagg’s reaction and asked why he wasn’t on the listing if they had gone together. Flagg revealed that Altman didn’t even have the courtesy to inform him that he wasn’t on the listing and that he found out when he saw it on the MLS. Flagg expressed his disappointment, saying that usually, when agents go on a listing appointment together, they stick to it. He felt that Altman wasn’t playing by the same rules, which hurt his feelings.
Altman shared his side of the story with Tracy, explaining that he was having issues with Flagg. He said that they had gone on the listing appointment together when they were very close, but the client later called him and said she wanted to co-list with him alone. Altman admitted that he didn’t call Flagg to inform him because he simply forgot. Tracy pointed out that Altman should have picked up the phone and called Flagg.
In an interview, Altman expressed that his feelings about the friendship went beyond the listing drama. He felt that he had put a lot of time and energy into the friendship, and it was disappointing to see it strained over the listing.
In a June 27 interview with The Daily Dish, Altman provided an update on his friendship with Flagg, stating that they were not in the same place they used to be. He acknowledged that mixing business and friendship often leads to conflicts, especially since they deal with the same properties frequently. Altman noted that viewers would see their friendship drama unfold throughout Season 15 and hinted that it wasn’t a priority for him at the moment.
Despite the tension, there is hope for reconciliation. Longtime rivals, Josh Flagg and Josh Altman, have decided to put aside their differences and team up for a spinoff show, Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles: Josh & Josh. The four-episode Bravo limited series follows their blossoming friendship as they take on listings across the Western U.S., including Napa, Aspen, and Newport Beach.
Flagg admitted that he never envisioned working on a spinoff with Altman, while Altman joked that he always hoped they would have a show together. Their collaboration began when they teamed up on a significant co-listing in San Diego, known as the “Razor House,” now owned by Alicia Keys and Swiss Beatz. The turning point in their relationship came during a meeting at the Mondrian Hotel, which set the stage for their partnership on the Razor House.
Their parents are thrilled about their newfound friendship, as they were friends before Flagg and Altman. Altman shared that it was awkward when they were enemies, but their parents’ friendship helped bridge the gap.
The spinoff also features cameos from their respective partners, Bobbie Boyd and Heather Bilyeu Altman, who play crucial roles in their real estate deals. Altman emphasized the importance of their significant others in their success and appreciated that they get their time on the show.
The spinoff offers more candid moments than the regular MDLLA series, with fun activities like grape stomping in Napa and a family episode in Aspen. Despite the lighter moments, the focus remains on closing deals, and both Joshes enjoy having a counterpart to help.
Flagg and Altman agree that their competitive drive will never change, but they have fun working together. The million-dollar question remains whether their feud is over for good. Flagg asserts that the feud is over, while Altman cautiously adds, “for now.”
