Justin Timberlake Arrested for DUI in Sag Harbor

In a surprising turn of events, pop icon Justin Timberlake was arrested in Sag Harbor, Long Island, for allegedly driving under the influence. The incident occurred overnight, leading to charges against the 43-year-old singer for driving while intoxicated.

Authorities reported that Timberlake was driving a 2025 BMW when he failed to stop at a stop sign and swerved into oncoming traffic. The arrest took place just after 12:30 a.m., and surveillance footage captured Timberlake’s vehicle moments before the police intervened.

Following the arrest, Timberlake was held overnight and appeared in Sag Harbor Village Justice Court the next morning. He was released on his own recognizance after the arraignment.

According to the police, Timberlake exhibited several signs of intoxication. He had bloodshot, glassy eyes, a strong smell of alcohol on his breath, and slurred speech. Additionally, he was unsteady on his feet and did not perform well on a field sobriety test. Despite these observations, Timberlake claimed he had only consumed one drink. He also refused to take a chemical test three times, as noted in the criminal complaint.

Reports indicate that Timberlake had been dining with friends at The American Hotel before the incident. He was pulled over shortly after leaving the establishment.

Currently, Timberlake is on his “Forget Tomorrow World Tour,” with upcoming performances in Chicago this weekend. He is also scheduled to perform at Madison Square Garden in New York next week.

The singer is expected to appear in court virtually on July 26. As of now, Timberlake has not released any public statements regarding the arrest.

Sag Harbor Village Police Chief Robert Drake provided additional details, stating that Timberlake was observed driving southbound on Madison Street. He failed to stop at a posted stop sign and did not maintain his lane of travel. The police officer who initiated the traffic stop determined that Timberlake was driving in an intoxicated condition, leading to his arrest and overnight detention.

Sag Harbor, a popular destination for nightlife and vacationers, is located next to the Hamptons at the eastern end of Long Island. The village is known for attracting affluent visitors, especially during the summer months.

Timberlake, who rose to fame as a member of the ’90s boy band NSYNC, has since established a successful solo career. He has won 10 Grammy Awards and appeared in several notable films, including “The Social Network,” “Friends With Benefits,” and “Inside Llewyn Davis.”

Representatives for Timberlake have not yet commented on the situation. The singer is being represented by prominent Hamptons lawyer Eddie Burke Jr. in this case.

Timberlake’s latest album, “Everything I Thought It Was,” was released in March, marking his first studio album in six years. The “Forget Tomorrow” World Tour is in support of this album, and Timberlake has been performing across North America for nearly two months.

Despite the recent arrest, Timberlake’s tour schedule remains unchanged. He is set to perform in Chicago this weekend and at Madison Square Garden in New York next week. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 26, the same day he is set to begin a two-night stand in Krakow, Poland.

Fans and the public await further updates on Timberlake’s legal situation and any potential impact on his tour. For now, the singer continues to fulfill his professional commitments while addressing the legal challenges ahead.
