Keke Jabbar, star of the reality TV show “Love & Marriage: Huntsville,” has passed away at the age of 42. The news of her death was announced on Tuesday through a statement from her family, which was read by blogger Marcella Speaks during a YouTube livestream. The statement expressed the family’s deep sorrow and requested privacy as they grieve.
“It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Keke. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded in love. She was a mom, a sister, and a great friend, full of life, love, and laughter. She will surely be missed. At this time, we are asking for respect and privacy in our moment of grief while we process this great loss,” the statement read.
Jabbar’s cousin and fellow cast member, LaTisha Moore Scott, also confirmed the news on social media, echoing the family’s request for privacy. “At this time we are asking for RESPECT, and PRIVACY in our moment of grief, while we process this great loss!” Scott wrote on Instagram. “This is hard for our Family!!!!!”
As of now, the cause of Jabbar’s death has not been officially reported. However, YouTuber JoAnn Jenkins, who frequently featured Jabbar on her live streams, provided some insight into the circumstances surrounding her death. Jenkins clarified that Jabbar did not overdose or take her own life. “Keke loved life. Keke was not ready to leave life. She wasn’t ready to leave her children, her husband, or her family,” Jenkins said during a YouTube stream.
Jenkins explained that Jabbar had visited her sisters and left around four in the morning. “Last night, she turned her car off and she fell asleep,” Jenkins continued. “Her car was not functioning properly; there was something already wrong with her car.” According to Jenkins, Jabbar’s husband found her in the car the next morning, unresponsive. Despite his efforts to revive her, she had already passed away from carbon monoxide poisoning.
Fans and friends have been pouring in their condolences on social media. On Jabbar’s Instagram page, comments from fans, friends, and fellow cast members expressed their shock and sorrow. “I am absolutely devastated! Sending many prayers and hugs to your beautiful kids, family, castmates, and friends. REST IN POWER gorgeous. No more mean spirits, lies being told about you, no more family drama… just PEACE,” read one comment. Another fan wrote, “My heart is broken cuz. You will be missed and we are praying healing for the rest of the family!”
