Kenya Moore will not be returning to “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” for Season 16 following her suspension, according to reports from Deadline. The reality star was put on pause amid an investigation into an incident where she allegedly displayed sexual images of her co-star and newcomer Brittany Eady during a filmed event.
The incident reportedly took place at an event promoting one of Moore’s business ventures. Videos shared online show that things took a dramatic turn when sexually explicit images of Eady were displayed. The scandal quickly went viral on social media, prompting Moore to take to Instagram to defend herself. She posted, “Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see. The truth always comes to light.”
Moore has also been vocal about the incident on X, formerly known as Twitter, where she denied any involvement in “revenge porn.” She stated, “I would never engage in revenge porn, I have never distributed private images or footage of anyone, nor solicited images owned by others to use to threaten or blackmail. I have always been vindicated. I can’t talk about STORY even with people planting fake news.”
Despite the controversy, Moore was not fired by Bravo, and the network has left the door open for her potential return in the future. However, another source indicated that the network has not discussed that option for now. Moore is reportedly considering her legal options following the incident.
Moore joined “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” in Season 5 and maintained her peach for six seasons before taking a break in Season 11. She returned as a full-time housewife in Season 12 and had been a staple on the show until now. The upcoming 16th season of RHOA is in the middle of a reboot, with Moore and Drew Sidora being the only two returning housewives from Season 15. The new season also features the return of Porsha Williams after a two-season break and former RHOA star Cynthia Bailey as a guest star. New cast additions include Angela Oakley, Brittany Eady, and Kelli Ferrell.
Following the news of Moore’s suspension, former RHOA star Kandi Burruss came to her defense. In an interview on Streetz Morning Takeover, Burruss said, “I don’t like the fact that they suspended Kenya. I know a lot of people were like, ‘she shouldn’t have shown that,’ but this is housewives. How many times have we done something that you think somebody shouldn’t do? So who made the rules? Why do you all of a sudden have such an issue with somebody doing something crazy to somebody?”
The media outlet ET confirmed that Eady and the rest of the ensemble are still filming, and it remains unclear if Moore will return. There were also online rumors speculating that a threat involving a gun was made against Moore. However, a source close to the show told ET, “At no time was Kenya ever threatened with a weapon, nor was there ever a weapon present during the course of production.” Eady also denied any threats or weapons were involved, stating, “For the record, I’ve never once had possession of any weapons or threatened anyone ever.”
Moore has always been a polarizing figure on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” Known for her dramatic flair and ability to stir the pot, she has been both loved and loathed by fans. Her ability to get under the skin of her co-stars without going too far below the belt has made her a top-tier housewife. Whether it was her long-time feud with Phaedra Parks or her calm and graceful check of Ralph Pittman at the Season 15 reunion, Moore has always been a formidable force on the show.
Despite her suspension, many fans still support Moore. She has often been painted as a villain, but she insists she doesn’t start drama; she knows how to shut it down. Her famous tagline, “Don’t come for me unless I send for you,” encapsulates her unapologetic approach to conflict. This trait has made her a fan favorite, as viewers appreciate her consistency and willingness to stand by her beliefs.
Moore’s absence from Season 16 will undoubtedly be felt. Her ability to question anything she finds suspect and her willingness to sacrifice herself on the metaphorical sword to prove her point have contributed to some of the most dramatic moments in the show’s history. Fans will miss her calm yet confrontational demeanor, which often provided a voice of reason amid the chaos.
While Moore’s future on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” remains uncertain, her impact on the show is undeniable. Whether she returns or not, her legacy as one of the most memorable housewives will continue to resonate with fans.
