Kim Cattrall Rules Out Her Return to the Series Inspired by 'Sex and the City'

The universe of Sex and the City is continuing to grow with its spin-off, And Just Like That. This new series picks up the lives of Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbes, and Charlotte York Goldenblatt, portrayed by Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis, respectively. While this new era of the iconic franchise has proven to be a success, with a third season coming soon, fans have found themselves missing Samantha Jones, the character played by Kim Cattrall. Cattrall decided not to reprise her role in the new production, which has left many wondering if she might return.

Despite fans’ hopes, Kim Cattrall has been clear about her intentions regarding the character. Cattrall addressed the rumors directly on Instagram, responding to a fan who inquired about her involvement in the new season. She stated plainly, “Aw, you’re very kind, but no,” emphasizing her stance on not returning to the series.

Back in 2022, Kim explained her decision not to be part of the Sex and the City spin-off, expressing that every story should evolve or come to an end. She reflected on the series’ conclusion by saying, “When the show ended, I thought: ‘How smart, we’re not going to repeat ourselves.’ And then came the movie to tie up the loose ends. Then another movie. And then another?”.

Cattrall is currently focused on her new projects and is enjoying her career progression.
