The celebration, titled “Once, tu cumpleaños: homenaje a Gustavo Cerati,” will feature various DJs who will set the mood with music from Cerati, Charly Alberti, and Zeta Bosio. Pergolini will host the event alongside several streamers who will participate in the live broadcast.

As the sun sets, hundreds of participants will gather to play and sing Soda Stereo’s classic.
The story of how De música ligera came to be is rooted in history. In 1989, Soda Stereo was preparing for a performance at Plaza de Toros Calafia in Mexicali. During a rehearsal, Gustavo Cerati spontaneously began crafting this iconic song. De música ligera was later released on Canción animal, Soda Stereo’s fifth studio album, and has been hailed as one of the best rock songs in Ibero-America. It even became the closing act during Soda Stereo’s farewell concert, where Cerati famously said, “¡Gracias… Totales!” – a phrase etched in the cultural memory.
In more recent years, Coldplay’s Chris Martin named De música ligera as his favorite song from the region during a tour of Latin America in 2016, surprising many fans. The following year, Coldplay performed the iconic track during a soundcheck before their concert in Brazil, which quickly went viral. Martin described the song as a highlight of their shows, emphasizing its powerful impact. In both their concerts in La Plata and Argentina’s Monumental Stadium, the beloved track made memorable appearances.
As anticipated, De música ligera also featured prominently in Sep7imo Día, a Cirque du Soleil production inspired by Soda Stereo’s music. In just a few days, this beloved song will resonate once again at the event in Vicente López, brought to life by Marmario Pergolini and other prominent figures from Vorterix.
