On July 24, the Nuevo León government emphasized Tesla’s significant investment in the region, stating that everything is in place for the company’s entry into Mexico. They mentioned that the state has met all commitments made to Tesla, and the Economic Development Committee, which includes representatives from both academia and the private sector, has approved the project’s work plan.
Furthermore, the state confirmed that many of Tesla’s suppliers are already investing and producing within the region. Authorities have claimed to have closely collaborated with the company concerning infrastructure and development plans.
Despite Musk’s recent statements, officials noted their understanding if Tesla decides to modify its work schedule due to factors beyond Nuevo León’s control. They assured that the government will continue to support the company, highlighting their commitment to the state’s benefits.
The spokesperson further asserted that Nuevo León remains the prime destination for high-value foreign investment in Mexico, citing its proximity to the United States, strong automotive supply chains, and a skilled workforce.
