Olivia Culpo Weds Christian McCaffrey in Rhode Island After Five Years Together

Olivia Culpo and Christian McCaffrey have officially tied the knot after five years together. The former Miss Universe and the NFL star exchanged vows on June 29 in a church in Watch Hill, Rhode Island, Olivia’s home state. The ceremony was a beautiful affair, with Olivia walking down the aisle in a stunning white, long-sleeve, crepe, crew neck Dolce & Gabbana ball gown, complemented by a long veil with a lace trim, as reported by Vogue.

The wedding was a family affair, with Olivia’s sisters Sophia and Aurora Culpo by her side, and her brothers Gus and Pete Culpo also in attendance. Christian was supported by his brothers Max, Luke, and Dylan McCaffrey. The couple’s parents, Peter Culpo and Susan Curran, and Ed and Lisa McCaffrey, were also present to witness the joyous occasion.

Olivia had always envisioned a perfect wedding day, and it seems she got just that. In an interview with E! News in March, she mentioned that the only non-negotiable element for her nuptials was her groom. She also highlighted the importance of family, good weather, and good times, but insisted she planned to be a relaxed bride, saying, “Whatever happens, happens.”

The couple’s journey began in 2019, and they announced their engagement in April 2023. Olivia, who previously dated Nick Jonas and Danny Amendola, has always emphasized the importance of having a supportive partner. “Even when things are exciting—everything’s better with another person that you can share experiences with,” she explained. “So being there to support each other is such a blessing and it really does make everything easier.”

Throughout their relationship, Olivia has been a constant source of support for Christian, cheering him on through his career highs and lows. This includes his move to the San Francisco 49ers from the Carolina Panthers in 2022, his recent contract renewal worth $38 million over two years, and supporting him through his heartbreaking Super Bowl loss in February. “Thanking God for a healthy season and for putting my best friend on this earth,” Olivia wrote on Instagram after the Super Bowl, adding, “Now let’s get married!”

The couple’s love story has been filled with sweet moments, from celebrating their engagement at a garden party in July 2023 to booking an RV for a special spring break vacation before Easter 2023. Olivia has often expressed her admiration for Christian, calling him “the yin to my yang” and thanking him for being her rock and restoring her faith in love.

As the wedding day approached, Olivia shared her excitement and preparations with her followers. She revealed that she had been experimenting with new beauty treatments to ensure she looked radiant for the big event. “One of the things that I did recently with Dr. Ellie is this, it’s called the Salmon sperm facial,” she said. “That was really interesting. Also, Dr. Diamond has this, I think it’s called the Inst Facial. It’s something. It’s PRP with exosomes, and that’s something that I had never tried before. That was really, really cool.”

Olivia also mentioned that she had been trying lymphatic drainage massages and other treatments recommended by her friends. “I’ve just been trying to do all of the things that my friends tell me work,” she added.

The wedding planning process was exciting for Olivia, although she admitted that it was logistically complicated. “Figuring out what everyone’s going to wear, figuring out where everyone’s going to stay, making sure that everybody’s happy,” she explained. As a self-proclaimed people pleaser, Olivia wanted to ensure that everyone had the best time ever, but she remained confident that everything would fall into place.

In March, Olivia gave her Instagram followers a sneak peek at some wedding details, including the potential role of the couple’s toy goldendoodle, Oliver Sprinkles Culpo McCaffrey, in the nuptials. “I really want him to be the ring bearer,” she wrote alongside a picture of the pup. She also shared that her wedding gown was still in the works, writing, “I don’t physically have the dress but I’ve been designing for months. I can’t wait for the finished product!!”

The wedding day itself was a grand affair, with a staff of people armed with blue umbrellas set up outside the Watch Hill Chapel to hide the bride from view. The ceremony was followed by a reception at Ocean House, one of Rhode Island’s premier hotels, where a five-peaked tent was set up on the lawn for guests, shielded from view with drapery.

The couple’s journey to the wedding was also a romantic one. They jetted off to Rhode Island on a private plane decked out with rose petals and flowers. They were greeted by a huge ‘Mr & Mrs’ sign outside the aircraft and enjoyed champagne and a three-course meal on their flight. Their toy goldendoodle, Oliver, was also on board, sitting on Olivia’s lap throughout the flight.

As they embark on this new chapter together, Olivia and Christian are excited for what the future holds. “I’m looking forward to marrying my best friend,” Olivia said. “I’m very excited for that next chapter, and I feel very lucky. He’s a great guy.”
