Palazzo de La Bancaria Takes Legal Action for the Return of Profits to Workers

National Deputy and head of the powerful banking union, La Bancaria, Sergio Palazzo announced on Monday that he plans to take legal action against the restoration of the fourth category of the Income Tax. This was just formalized by the national government in Decree 652, issued on the same day.

Palazzo stated in an interview on the program “Habrá Consecuencias,” broadcast on El Destape Radio, that they are ready to file a complaint. He argues that the tax is confiscatory, as it takes 16% of workers’ salaries, and constitutes a disguised salary reduction. The union leader noted that under the new regulations, 95% of bank employees will be subjected to this tax.
