Queen Camilla has reportedly limited King Charles III’s contact with his estranged son, Prince Harry, amid the king’s recent health concerns. King Charles, 75, was diagnosed with cancer, prompting doctors to advise him to postpone public-facing duties. This diagnosis has led to a reshuffling of royal responsibilities, with other family members stepping in to maintain the royal schedule.
Prince Harry, who now resides in California, made a brief trip to London to see his father after the diagnosis. However, the visit was short, with Harry meeting Charles privately for less than an hour before the king and Queen Camilla left for Sandringham. Harry departed London just over 24 hours after arriving, reportedly staying in a hotel overnight.
Queen Camilla has been actively supporting her husband during this challenging time. She has continued her public engagements while also ensuring that Charles follows his medical advice. Last month, while Charles was undergoing treatment for an enlarged prostate, Camilla maintained her schedule, hosting a reception at Windsor Castle and meeting volunteers at a community center in Cambridge.
The royal family has been adjusting to the temporary absence of both King Charles and Princess Kate, who is recovering from planned abdominal surgery. Prince William, the heir to the throne, has stepped in for his father, leading an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle. Princess Anne and Prince Edward, along with his wife Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, have also been active in fulfilling royal duties.
The strained relationship between Prince Harry and the rest of the royal family has been a topic of public interest, especially following the release of Harry’s memoir “Spare.” Despite the brief reunion, there are no indications of a significant reconciliation between Harry and his family members.
