Sofia Vergara is not one to shy away from the topic of aging and plastic surgery. The Modern Family star recently opened up about her future plans for cosmetic procedures, revealing that she intends to undergo various surgeries when the time is right.
In an interview with Allure, published on May 28, Vergara candidly shared her thoughts on plastic surgery. “I’m going to do every plastic surgery that I can do when I’m ready,” she stated. The actress, who is 51, explained that her busy schedule has prevented her from taking the plunge so far. “I wish I had more downtime; I would’ve done stuff already. [But] because I’m in front of the camera, it’s not like I can do something and then sit in my house recuperating for weeks,” she added.
While she hasn’t had any major surgeries yet, Vergara is no stranger to beauty treatments. She has been using Botox for years, particularly in her neck and around her eyes. However, she is not a fan of fillers. “I don’t believe in filler. I feel filler does good when you’re really young and you want a little bit more cheeks or to plump your lips a little bit. At my age—51—I feel it’s not going to make you look younger. It is going to make you look more done,” she explained.
Vergara’s openness about plastic surgery stems from her belief in taking advantage of available options. “I feel like you have to take advantage of everything that is out there,” she said. “I mean, if you care about aging. Nothing wrong if you don’t care about it. It’s not the end of the world. But if you do, now there’s so much stuff out there.”
Despite her interest in cosmetic procedures, Vergara also emphasizes the importance of skincare. She is a firm believer in the power of sunscreen as an anti-aging tool. “If you’re tanning your face, there’s nothing in the world that you put on at night that is going to give you good skin,” she noted. “I do think it makes a difference. I’m 51, and I can compare myself to my friends that have never [worn sunscreen], and now they’re all like, ‘F—, why didn’t we pay attention to you?'”
Vergara’s stance on aging is clear: she is determined to fight it every step of the way. “I’m going to fight it every step of the way!” she admitted to People for its Beautiful Issue earlier this month. “I know I don’t look the same. But I don’t think I am going to ever be the woman that has the courage to be, like, all-white hair.”
With age, Vergara has gained wisdom and strength. “Life has not always been easy,” she reflected, “but I’ve never felt stronger.”
Although she hasn’t had plastic surgery yet, Vergara’s openness about her future plans and her current beauty regimen offers a glimpse into her approach to aging and self-care. As she continues to navigate her career and personal life, it will be interesting to see how her views on plastic surgery and aging evolve.
