Taylor Swift just wrapped up another leg of her The Eras Tour, which recently took her to two cities in Asia and Australia. The singer posted a heartfelt thank you message on Instagram, mentioning the break she’s taking before heading back out on the road. However, this pause isn’t for a vacation; it’s for another work-related reason.
Swift shared a carousel of stylized images from one of her recent concerts in Singapore, where she just completed six consecutive dates. In her caption, the Grammy-winning artist expressed her gratitude, saying, “Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who traveled and put so much effort into being at our shows.” She described the series of performances in the Asian city-state as “an unforgettable way to end this leg of the tour!!”
She then reminded her 200-million-plus followers that she won’t be performing for several weeks. “See you in May when we get back to the Eras Tour!!” But why is she pressing pause on the most successful tour of all time? For a great reason. “In the meantime I’ve got an album to release…” Swift coyly added.
Swift is referring to her forthcoming full-length album, The Tortured Poets Department. She announced the title at the Grammys last month while accepting the award for Best Pop Vocal Album, much to the delight of her fans. The album is expected to drop on April 19.
The singer’s next scheduled date on The Eras Tour isn’t until May 9, exactly two months after her final concert in Singapore on March 9. She’ll resume her globe-trotting tour in France. From May until August, Swift will be traveling around Europe, playing to massive crowds.
After her European stint, Swift will take another break from mid-August until October, when The Eras Tour launches another leg in America. Following her record-breaking shows across the United States in 2023, she plans to perform in Miami Gardens, New Orleans, and Indianapolis. The tour will then conclude in Canada, with shows in Toronto and Vancouver—at least that’s the plan for now.
The Eras Tour is reportedly the highest-grossing tour of all time, and it’s far from over. Swift’s latest tour has already earned more than $1 billion in ticket sales, and it may cross the $2 billion mark before it finishes. No other tour in history has made $1 billion before.
