Vanessa Hudgens and her husband, Cole Tucker, have welcomed their first child, according to multiple reports. The High School Musical alum, 35, and the MLB player, 28, were seen leaving a Santa Monica hospital on Wednesday, July 3, which also happened to be Tucker’s birthday. TMZ was the first to report the birth, although the child’s birthdate, sex, and name remain unknown. Reps for Hudgens did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Earlier that day, Hudgens posted a heartfelt birthday tribute to her husband on Instagram. “Happy birthday to my slice of heaven,” she wrote, sharing photos of the couple and their dog. “You make the world a brighter place just by being you.”
Hudgens first revealed her pregnancy in March, debuting her baby bump on the 2024 Oscars red carpet. She attended the event in a black, long-sleeved, floor-length dress that showcased her growing belly. As she posed for photos and did interviews, the expectant mom cradled her bump with her hands, smiling as she received congratulations.
In December 2023, Hudgens and Tucker tied the knot in a jungle wedding in Tulum, Mexico. The star shared exclusive photos and details of her private “I dos” in an interview with Vogue. “Writing my own vows was important to me,” Hudgens told Vogue. “It is the most beautiful thing ever in a relationship to be that open and vulnerable and raw in front of all of the people you love proclaiming your love. It’s just beautiful. I loved it.”
Since announcing her pregnancy, Hudgens has shared several photos of her maternity style on Instagram. One notable post featured her in a long, white knit dress that highlighted her baby bump. She accessorized with a Kurt Geiger Mini Denim Kensington Bag and an oxblood red lip, holding her hands under her stomach. “Mother’s Day is around the corner. Make sure you treat all the hardworking Mommas out there!” she wrote in the caption.
In May, Hudgens shared a sweet photo of herself and Tucker on Instagram as they posed together on a baseball diamond. Wearing a white body-con dress and a white Los Angeles Angels hat, Hudgens smiled as she put an arm around Tucker, who posed in his uniform. “You can call it faith, you can call it angels, you can call it whatever you want,” Hudgens wrote in her caption, quoting the 1994 film Angels in the Outfield.
Vanessa Hudgens is now officially a mom. On Wednesday, the High School Musical alum and her husband, Cole Tucker, were seen leaving a hospital in Santa Monica with their newborn, according to TMZ and Page Six. Neither Hudgens nor Tucker have publicly announced the news. While the couple hasn’t revealed whether the child is a boy or girl, TMZ reports that they left the hospital with their baby on Tucker’s 28th birthday. HuffPost has reached out to Hudgens’ reps for comment.
The Spring Breakers actress first announced her pregnancy news with a stylish baby bump debut on the 2024 Oscars red carpet in March. At the ceremony, she showed off her growing bump in a skin-tight black gown by Vera Wang Haute. The couple first started dating in May 2021. Though they’ve been low-key about their relationship, the Say OK singer and the MLB shortstop confirmed their engagement in an adorable Instagram post in February 2023. They were married that December. “YES. We couldn’t be happier,” Hudgens captioned a photo of her ring in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France.
Baby V is now Mommy V! Vanessa Hudgens and her husband, Los Angeles Angels player Cole Tucker, have welcomed their first child, according to multiple reports. On Wednesday, the 35-year-old High School Musical alum celebrated her hubby’s 28th birthday and gave him a gift unlike any other—a new baby! TMZ was the first to report the singer and actress had welcomed her child, although details on the baby’s birthday and sex are unknown at this time.
Hudgens first announced her pregnancy in March by letting her baby bump do the talking: the actress debuted her special guest on the 2024 Academy Awards red carpet. Hudgens showed off her growing belly in a custom floor-length black gown by Vera Wang. Following the ceremony, she put her bump on display in a sheer dress by Jason Bolden at the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party. “Vanessa is glowing and embracing this new chapter. She couldn’t be happier during this time,” a source told ET before the birth. “She can’t wait to be a mom and wants to provide and set a positive example for her little one. She is such a hands-on person in everything she does and this will undoubtedly translate into her parenting style. Cole has been catering to her every need. He’s a family man and is actively involved. He wants to be the best dad he can be. This is a dream come true for both of them. They are still living on cloud nine and loving married life.”
The pregnancy news came months after Hudgens and Tucker tied the knot at Azulik City of Arts in Tulum, Mexico, on Dec. 2, 2023. The couple was married in front of 100 of their closest friends and family and wrote their own vows. The ceremony was officiated by Jay Shetty, who hosted the Zoom meditation session where Hudgens and Tucker met in 2020. “Me and Cole met on a Zoom meditation group. Very random, yes,” the Bad Boys star told ET in 2021. “Zoom, you’ve got to love it.”
The two were first publicly linked in 2020, months after her split from former longtime boyfriend Austin Butler. Prior to Butler, the former Disney star was famously in a longtime relationship with High School Musical co-star Zac Efron before their split in 2010. Now, baby makes three, and no doubt Hudgens is thrilled. When ET spoke with the Princess Switch star in April 2023, she reflected on all of the things she’s manifested in her life, including her love story with Tucker. “My relationship, my home, my career,” she shared. “There’s so much. As long as you’re really specific, might not always come when you expect it or want it, but it’s always gonna come back in some way.”
Two months into married life, Hudgens couldn’t help but gush about her life as a married woman. “It’s the best; I couldn’t be happier—genuinely,” she told ET in February of her new role as wife to the pro baseball player. Congratulations to the family of three!
