BASTARDANE and OTTTO, the bands featuring the sons of METALLICA members, have announced their “The Reconquest Tour” for the summer of 2024. This tour will see Castor Hetfield, son of METALLICA frontman James Hetfield, and Tye Trujillo, son of METALLICA bassist Robert Trujillo, hitting the road together for a 24-date trek across North America.
BASTARDANE, with Castor Hetfield on drums and vocals, will be performing tracks from their latest album, “Catatonic Symphony.” This album, released in 2024, showcases the band’s evolution since their 2022 debut, “Is This Rage?” The album features 16 tracks spread across 77 minutes, highlighting the band’s growth and musical depth. Castor Hetfield expressed his excitement about the tour, stating, “The new songs we’ve got on ‘Catatonic Symphony’ kick butt. We put a lot of heart into the album and cannot wait to hit the road and play it live.”
OTTTO, a three-piece band featuring Tye Trujillo on bass, will be debuting their new singer, Tito Dutta, on this tour. Dutta, an Indian-born singer, brings a fresh dynamic to the Los Angeles trio, which is currently working on new music. Tye Trujillo commented on Dutta’s addition, saying, “It’s an intriguing and a new fundamental milestone in the trajectory of OTTTO.” The band released their debut album, “Life Is A Game,” in the spring of 2023, which received praise from Metal Injection, stating, “OTTTO are destined for stardom. There’s little doubt here.”
The tour will kick off on August 2nd in New York, NY, at the Market Hotel and will make stops in major cities across North America, including Boston, Montreal, Toronto, Chicago, and Los Angeles. The tour will also include seven Canadian dates, with stops in Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver.
BASTARDANE, consisting of Castor Hetfield (vocals/drums), Ethan Sirotzki (guitar), Luca Badan (bass), and Jacobious Lovebone (vocals), has been praised for their intense and unapologetic live performances. The band draws influences from bands like CORROSION OF CONFORMITY, OPETH, and TOOL. Castor Hetfield has expressed his desire to carve out their own path in the music industry, stating, “All of us are our father’s sons, mine just happens to be very successful in the industry that we’re in. It’s not bothersome, but it is a little annoying when people try to compare us, because obviously we’re our own people and he’s his own person. We’re making our own kind of music.”
OTTTO, featuring Tye Trujillo (bass), Triko Chavez (drums), and Tito Dutta (vocals), blends heavy hardcore punk, sludge, and alternative music. Their debut album, “Life Is A Game,” has been described by Experience Vinyl as “going at it hard, fast, and without any traditional rules,” while Kerrang! praised the band as a “hyper-ambitious trio who refuse to be pigeonholed and just want to have fun.”
