Their appearance together comes amid reports that Affleck had moved out of their shared home weeks ago, with claims that the couple has been living separately for some time. Last week, Lopez was asked about the breakup rumors while promoting her new Netflix film in Mexico City. When an audience member inquired, Lopez deflected the question, saying, “You know better than that,” but did not directly deny the rumors.
Lopez has been promoting her latest film without Affleck by her side, and he was notably absent from the Met Gala earlier this month, where Lopez served as a co-chairwoman. After the event, Lopez faced criticism for barely acknowledging reporters on the Met’s steps. When asked by a Us Today reporter who she was wearing, she responded curtly with “Schiaparelli” and nothing more.
Affleck’s friend Matt Damon and his wife Luciana were present at the star-studded fashion event in New York. Their appearance together at the basketball game comes just days after Lopez canceled her This Is Me… Live tour dates in the US. On Friday, Live Nation announced the 2024 summer tour was canceled, stating, “Jennifer is taking time off to be with her children, family, and close friends.”
Lopez addressed her fans through her On the J.Lo newsletter, expressing her heartbreak over the cancellation. “I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down,” she wrote. “Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary. The tour, which was initially set to support her ninth studio album This Is Me… Now, was scheduled to kick off in Orlando on June 26. Live Nation reassured fans that they would be automatically refunded.
In another recent appearance, Lopez and Affleck attended the graduation party of Affleck’s daughter, Violet. This marked the first time in two weeks that the couple was seen together. Lopez, however, was in no mood for chit-chat and left the party within an hour. The couple tried to present a united front as news of their potential split spread. They were seen leaving the venue together in a black Cadillac Escalade.
The graduation party took place at the mansion of Affleck’s ex-wife, Jennifer Garner. Affleck had returned to a rented mansion after differences emerged between him and Lopez.
