Mario Soriano, a forward for Deportivo La Coruña, is optimistic about the upcoming season as the team returns to the Second Division. He believes it will be an exciting time for fans, although he also acknowledges that they will face significant challenges due to the quality of their opponents.
Soriano described the league as very competitive, pointing out that last year’s competition was tightly matched. He anticipates that this season will be even more challenging since many teams possess substantial talent and players familiar with the league.
In the team’s first preseason friendly against Ourense CF, which ended with a 4-0 victory, Soriano felt positive about the performance. He noted that the team showed many of the strategies they had been working on during the two weeks of training. Scoring four goals while keeping a clean sheet was particularly satisfying for him, and he emphasized the need to prepare well for the upcoming match against Pontevedra CF.
On a personal level, Soriano, who returned to Riazor this summer after a loan spell at Eibar last season, has found it easy to adapt to the team dynamics since he had previously played with teammates Yeremay and Lucas Pérez. He remarked on the good understanding among the players, which is essential for their success.
Recently, Soriano extended his contract with Deportivo La Coruña until June 2028, reflecting his commitment to the club as they embark on this new season.
