Billy Ray Cyrus Accuses Wife Firerose of $96K Credit Card Charge

Billy Ray Cyrus has recently taken legal action against his estranged wife, Firerose, accusing her of making unauthorized charges totaling $96,986.05 on his credit card. The country music star, known for hits like “Achy Breaky Heart” and “Old Town Road,” filed a court motion seeking an emergency restraining order to prevent Firerose from using his credit cards and demanding that she repay the full amount.

The court documents, obtained by TMZ, reveal that the charges were made between May 23 and June 7, with Firerose allegedly making 37 unauthorized transactions using Cyrus’s business American Express card. Cyrus claims that Firerose was never authorized to use this card and is now seeking legal intervention to stop her from accessing his financial resources.

In response, Firerose has filed her own court documents, arguing that she has had access to several of Cyrus’s credit cards since they moved in together in 2022. She contends that there was no spending limit imposed on her and that she should be allowed to use their marital funds to maintain her lifestyle. Firerose also claims that $45,000 of the disputed amount was mistakenly charged by her law firm and has already been refunded.

The legal battle comes on the heels of Cyrus filing for divorce from Firerose in late May, citing irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct. He is also seeking an annulment on the grounds of fraud. The couple, who tied the knot in October 2023, had been married for less than a year before their relationship began to unravel.

Firerose, whose real name is Johanna Rose Hodges, has countered Cyrus’s claims by stating that she has been using his credit cards with his full knowledge and permission since their marriage. She argues that there is no emergency warranting a restraining order and that she has been living as per the status quo established during their marriage.

Cyrus’s legal team, however, maintains that Firerose’s spending is unauthorized and fraudulent. They argue that the couple does not have any joint accounts, credit cards, or real estate, and that neither party was ever an authorized user on the other’s accounts. Cyrus also claims that Firerose owns real estate in Los Angeles worth over seven figures and has more than $500,000 in liquid and investment assets at her disposal.

The court has already reached an interim agreement requiring Firerose to move out of Cyrus’s home immediately. Cyrus will provide her with financial support for 90 days or until their marriage is officially dissolved, whichever comes first. Despite this arrangement, Cyrus is adamant that Firerose should refund or return anything she purchased with his business credit card.

The couple’s tumultuous relationship has been under the spotlight, especially given Cyrus’s high-profile previous marriage to Tish Cyrus, which ended in 2022 after 28 years. Tish has since moved on and married “Prison Break” star Dominic Purcell, with their daughter Miley Cyrus serving as maid of honor. Miley’s relationship with her father has reportedly been strained, and she was notably absent from Billy Ray and Firerose’s wedding.

As the legal proceedings continue, both parties are standing firm in their positions. Firerose insists that she has done nothing wrong and that her spending was within the bounds of their marital agreement. Cyrus, on the other hand, is determined to recover the nearly $100,000 he claims was spent without his authorization.

The case highlights the complexities and emotional toll of high-profile divorces, especially when significant financial disputes are involved. Fans and observers will be watching closely as the court decides whether Firerose’s spending constitutes unauthorized use or if she was simply maintaining the lifestyle she had during their brief marriage.
