The popular reality show “La Academia,” produced by Azteca, kicked off on Sunday, July 21. This competition features 16 talented artists who will showcase their musical abilities week after week. The program has enjoyed significant success in its previous editions.
After several weeks of competition and eliminations, the standout performer will receive a substantial cash prize. The winner will take home one million pesos, which is approximately $55,600.
“La Academia” operates as a reality show where 16 participants live together at the Azteca Studios. Throughout the week, they must prepare and rehearse for a musical performance, culminating in a live gala on Sundays. A jury will evaluate each contestant, and one artist will be eliminated each week.
The competition is also broadcast 24/7, allowing fans to watch the participants anytime through cameras and microphones placed throughout the residence.
Viewers can catch the participants’ Sunday concerts starting at 8:00 PM on Azteca Uno or through the mobile app. The 24/7 live stream is available on platforms such as Disney+, the TV Azteca app, and Pluto TV.
Jaime Camil will host this season, while the judging panel consists of renowned artists: Lola Cortés, Arturo López Gavito, Chiquis, and Espinoza Paz.
Cesia Sáenz, the winner of the 2022 edition, was joined in the semifinals by Andresse, Mar Rendón, Nelson Carreras, and Rubà Ibarra. Since its debut in 2002, “La Academia” has been a breeding ground for talented artists, with nearly 300 individuals passing through its ranks over the years.
